For example, when the author was talking about all the Lords, it got confusing who was who. I think that in order to fully understand the book you must do some research. Erik Christian Haugaard did a good job of adding suspense however and portraying the time period, but, he left me confused at some points. This got me interested, wondering what was to come. In the beginning, the main characters parents were killed leaving him with nothing but a bamboo sword.
